Religious civil society networks in the Great Lakes as partners in Peace Buildingregion

The  project do research on the constituency, networks and political strategies of local church networks in South Kivu, and the relationship between these organisationsand other civil society networks, such as human rights and women's organisations,at a local, provincial and regional scale. By focusing on, in turn, (i) analysing the religious civil society networks, (ii) assessing their role in local and regional peace processes and (iii) addressing the organisation of women and the promotion of issues of women,peace and security within these networks.
The project will carry out fieldwork in 16 villages in all parts of South Kivu. The project is carried out in collaboration with Centre for Intercultural Communication (SIK), Stavanger, andtwo universities in Bukavu, South Kivu; Université Evangélique en Afrique (UEA) og Université Officielle de Bukavu (UOB).
